In years past, Hampton Roads Pride has given out awards to members of our community who have gone above and beyond what was asked of them in their efforts to help make Hampton Roads the place we can all be proud to call home.  In that regard, we are continuing these awards, with some modifications to encourage the involvement of the LGBT community at large.  Our awards represent the best of us, so the nominees should start with you, the community. Nominations will be open to the community until April 30th.  Please fill out this form and either mail it to the address provided or email mailto:president@hamptonroadspride.net

The Diana Ross Award

To ensure the spirit of the Diana Ross Award, now and in the future, these guidelines are established to assist Diana and the President, with the assistance of the Board of Directors.  The guidelines for nomination will be an individual who has shown exemplary service and beyond exceeded all expectations anyone could have expected.  Their commitment to the GLBT community will be shown through their unending loyalty to our causes.   Recommendations will be made to Diana Ross, (the Queen Mother of Pride) to the President, who will chair an award nominating committee in the future.  Final decisions will be made by Diana Ross, until she is no longer able, for whatever reason, to make the final decision for herself.  This award may only be given to an individual once in their lifetime.
