7th Annual PrideFest Boat Parade
Saturday • June 17, 2017
PrideFest 2017 will be celebrated in Norfolk’s Town Point Park. A highlight of PrideFest 2017 is the 7th Annual Pride Boat Parade, the only Pride Boat Parade in the country! The Pride Boating Club of Hampton Roads was established by participants subsequent to the Inaugural Pride Boat Parade in 2011 and has been the coordinating sponsor since then.
The Hampton Roads area was established along the miles of lake, river and bay front and has over 300 years of maritime history. Town Point Park, nestled on the riverbanks of the Elizabeth River, provides a unique setting for boaters to be part of this event.
The Pride Boat Parade has grown in size every year. The U.S. Coast Guard participates with a 45-foot Response Boat and leads the parade. The 135-foot Sailing Ship American Rover offers locals and visitors the opportunity to participate in the parade before joining PrideFest 2017 for the day’s activities that will include headline musical performances and great entertainment.
Private boats of all sizes participate in the decorated boat parade offering colorful and inspiring themes making the parade an entertainment experience you won’t forget. Please join us by completing your application to participate and let’s see who will best incorporate the PrideFest 2017 theme “OUT, LOUD & PROUD” into their decoration theme.
